B-INNOVATION RENEWABLES - THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT Renewable energy is one of the ways to create a sustainable economy for the future. The EU has decided that 20% of energy will come from renewable sources by 2020. This presents an opportunity and a challenge for all the EU member countries. Offshore Wind presents a solution that is based on established engineering principles. Therefore, many of the North Sea countries are investing heavily in Offshore Wind farms, the infrastructure and the supply chain. Denmark has long been at the forefront of the development of Wind Turbine Generators and the installation of wind farms. There is a lot of expertise concentrated there, but Danish companies do not necessarily have the means and format to invest in local supply chains. Therefore, it will be up to engineering companies in the individual companies to gain the knowledge quickly and take advantage of one of the greatest engineering projects ever in Europe.
